Sometimes it isn't possible to place a tile in a certain spot although the required tiles are highlighted. The tile to place simply drops. Undoing this and trying to place it again brings the same result. I am playing with a touchpad, so maybe...? It is unpredictable, when this is going to happen, but it happens once or twice in a game....

is there mid-level/mid-run saving in the game? so as not to lose progress after quitting anytime.

Not sure if it's intentional, but I noticed that, in certain levels with a timer as a challenge, when you pause, the timer doesn't pause.
