Depth
BabyCat  [developer] Mar 10, 2016 @ 10:37pm
We're glad you all bought Depth, so did we
For the last month Depth has not been in development as we, Digital Confections have worked to reach a new agreement surrounding the ownership of Depth. Today we're excited to announce that the deal has been finalized and that Digital Confectioners will now completely own Depth. Thus far, Depth has been a collaboration between Alex Quick (UnexpectedSquirt) and Digital Confectioners, but with this new agreement Alex will be moving on to other projects. Alex will be incredibly missed as Depth wouldn't exist, or be the game it is today without him. The new arrangement does not mean Depth will undergo sweeping changes, and nothing perceivable should change other than our development resuming. With this behind us we are now back hard at work on Depth with an update planned for release in April, and are excited for more Depth in 2016 and years to come! :dappershark:

Is there any chance you guys will increase the global brightness in the future? With the bullshark update came heavily increased global darkness making diver uplayable for me. I never had this problem prior to the update and this problem is the main reason I have stopped playing. When I dive I can't see the sharks until they are two feet in front of me. On Hillside I literally can't see a thing. I messed with many settings and nothing really improved. I tried playing with brightness all the way at 120 and that didn't help at all. I am not sure if it is my monitor or something but the game is very dark now, too dark. I hope you guys at least consider increasing global brightness because I wouldd love to start playing again in the future.

I am sure I am not the only one who has this problem.

Pkhavens had a similar problem, but for him it was a monitor setting that was causing it to be extremely dark. Once he changed that he said the game was fine.

I do agree though that the game got darker after the Bull Shark update.

The thing is though I think it is the game more so than my monitor. I don't have any problems with brightness on any other games, hell I didn't even have problems with brightness on this game until the Bull Shark update was released. Most games are actually pretty bright on my monitor rather than dark. Like in Vermintide I have the gamma almost all the way down because the game is very bright on my monitor.

Hopefully, we'll get to test it or have some infos about it before its release. :dappershark:

Something worth checking when it comes to the darkness issue:

One of my screen is plugged in over HDMI and every time Nvidia does an update it changes this setting back to 'Limited'. :awkward:

I find playing Depth as a diver on the Limited colour range very hard, so I recommend checking this setting. :greatwhite:

My monitor is plugged into my GPU via DVI so this isn't the issue.

It's not like I got a new monitor and it has messed up settings or anything because I have been playing Depth on this monitor since Depth was released and have not run into any problems up until the Bull Shark update was released. Like I said earlier, I have no issues with brightness on any other game.

Here is my visability on Hillside with in game brightness maxed out. I am looking towards the third safe building, FYI.

This visability is awful. Prior to the Bull Shark upddate I would be able to see the third safe building easily from this postion. Now all I see is a sea of darkness.
