Cant get it to start (SOLVED)

Hi all baught this yesterday and it wont start from it's icon or from steam launch

I have windows 7 64
GTX 660 3 gig
Phenom II 3.4 x6
with 8 gigs ram

any ideas as to how i might be able to make it run tried a forum search but couold not find anything useful and I am seeing no error messages just fails to start.

and your cg drivers are up to date ?

Yup, just got it working by downloading SP from the main site and aplying for a standalone key that worked like a charm. so will add solved to the thread heading.

no steam version still misbehaving. but at least i can get on with learning now :D ill hold on for an update and try steam again then.
