New patch on Win 8.1 crashes on loading due to DEP (SOLVED)

I just determined that unless you set DEP (Data Execution Prevention) to opt-in AOW will still crash on loading, even with the new patch, on win 8.1.
Setting DEP to Opt-out and opting AOW's executable out does NOT seem to work, for some reason. I'm posting this because it may help someone else with the same problem. This will probably also affect later versions of windows if/when DEP becomes mandatory.

doesnt work for me win 7 64bit in spite of new patch.its loading till 69% and than crash to desktop wtf is the problem.a friend of me installed it too also win 7 64bit and it works for him.i have an error report hereRegisters:

Mine worked fine right from the start...the resolutions are ♥♥♥♥...but it works.

Sorry, what does DEP opt-in mean? I make an exception in DEP for AoW executable, but doesn't work. Can you help me? Thank you so much.
