The Path

(Edited) Missing one flower... any tips? (somewhat spoilery)
EDIT: Found the piano I was missing! I knew it was near the grafitti wall somewhere... can't believe it took so long to find it.

So, after so many hours of playing, and getting all but a few things, I find myself at a complete loss on where to go from here. I know that nothing is really affected by not getting absolutely everything, but I'd still like to at least try to find it all.

I'm missing a single flower of the full 144, and I have absolutely no idea where it is. I've heard some people mention that there's one flower in particular near the campsite that's invisible or buggy somehow, but I really have no way of knowing if that's the one I need. If it helps at all, it's the 20th flower (from left to right) on the top of the basket screen. I haven't done a ton of exploring as Scarlet, so I may give that a shot. But past that, I'm at a loss. And walking around the forest as the girl in white may be fast, but it's far too rainy half the time to see all that much.

If anybody has any idea of how to find it, any help would be appreciated. =)

I wish someone would make a youtube walkthrough to get all the items! it kills me how hard is to find some.
Yeah, that would be rather nice. Half of my playtime on-record was just to find the piano as the right girl to get it added to the basket. I was so ridiculously happy when I finally got that bloody thing.

Unfortunately, the game is designed in such a way that the only map that's ever the same is the Forest Girl's. Everyone has certain items or locations they can actually find, so there would need to be at least 6 or 7 different maps for each girl. I wouldn't mind trying to figure out how to make one myself, but I'd have to restart the game, and after all of that work just to find them all the first time, I'd rather leave it to someone more dedicated to it than I have the time for (so many other games to finish/start, after all. =P).

I /DID/ find a video walkthrough detailing where all 144 flowers were in the demo version of the game, but there's no telling that the locations would be the same in the full version. Besides, in my case, at 143 of 144, it's kinda tough to get your bearings in the forest when there's basically nothing to see.

As far as I've been able to tell, the easiest way to get them all is by playing as the Forest Girl. She moves really quickly, and doesn't have to deal with finding any of the items, so you're able to walk/run at leisure looking for the flowers. Her map also seems to be the most complete, with many locations appearing at once that none of the other girls are able to locate.

Luckily, getting all the flowers does nothing, though really, neither does getting all the items. I still managed to get all of the secret rooms without having found every item. And even then, when I thought I had found everything, at the results screen, I'd be told I was dead wrong by somehow only having 1 of 5 or 1 of 4, pretty much every single time (absolutely NO idea what the items are supposed to be, if not the things you add to your basket. Even picking up multiple physical objects didn't increase the number past that 1).
I think that the position of the flowers is random. When I played I used to find just a few flowers at time (8 or 10 iirc). When I stopped to find flowers I called home and played it again.

I didn't know the Girl in White could find the flowers... I found the last one with Scarlet (after met the wolf with every girl).

I don't find this "unfortunately".

The game is about getting lost in a forest, so - as the locations change everytime we play - we found ourselves lost in the woods just as like as the girls.

The Girl in White isn't lost. She is the one who saves the girls bringing they back to the path, so she knows the forest - this is why the map is always.

If the map was the same every time we play, we wouldn't have the feeling of being lost...

Getting the flowers improves the map. I think you have notice that you have some "information" at the border of the screen, and if you open the map you see where is almost everything in the forest (the car, the piano, the spider's web).

Getting the items will add something at grandmother's house (deer's heads, eggs in the refrigerator).

In regards to the story, it all makes sense and works well, and for that, I'm very happy with it. As far as the gameplay is concerned, however, it's highly disorienting having a map that consistently changes (outside of the Girl in White), and realistically pads out the gameplay quite a bit. Yes, it's for the purpose of the story, so I don't fault it for that. But I can't necessarily say it's well thought out for playing over a long period of time. Though, I suppose the game is meant to be played in a few sittings, as opposed to what I did... so many hours at once. >_>

It somewhat improves the map, though not to a degree that is useful for all players. It's supposed to show you things you have yet to see, or locations to visit, but if you've already found those things without all the flowers, then the updated map becomes somewhat pointless. And for me, having found literally all but one flower, I don't have half of the objects in the forest on any of my maps. At most, I had 5 locations, but nothing like the spiders' web or piano. In fact, that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ piano is the reason I played for 7 extra hours just to find it. =/

And yes, I was aware of the items added to grandmothers' house, I never doubted the importance of certain items. However, the flowers themselves added very little for my playthrough, and many items actually didn't add anything to certain scenes, as I obtained some items for girls where it wasn't important to their path through grandmothers' house.

Ultimately, none of this is a massive complaint for me. I know I did everything in the game aside from get that one flower. I know what worked, and how the story progressed, and I have some interpretations of my own. So I still took from it what it offered. =)
one of the developer comment that nothing happens when you collect all the flowers

is like you are an obsesive...
Could you link where they commented that?

Because when I collected almost all the flowers it showed all the interactive items in the forest and when I collect all of them, it was deleted from the map the items that the girls couldn't interact.
If you had read my full comment, bourne, you'd see that I am well aware that getting all of the flowers does nothing. =P
I'm a completionist, it bothers me when I can't do everything in a given game, or when there's one single thing left to find with no direction on where it might be. That's just how I play games, I'm deliberately obsessive about items and collections.

sorry, i just want to comment something about the flowers, for the ones who hates this things.

i like playing games wit obsessive mode too.
I actually found all the 144 flowers back in 2009 and nothing happens. Just nothing. I asked the programmer if there were something anywhere after you found the flowers and They just say that the were there just to enjoy the travel of finding them, that nothing happens when You collect them all. So... yes, it's a total waste of time
