[feature request] - lava pockets

Could you add lava/magma pockets to the game? I believe this was part of the original flash game. Basically at a certain depth a normal looking dirt square may be a hidden magma square that can damage your hull. Will surely make the hardcore game more interesting and will need more planning in advance.

These were called Gas Pockets in the original game; we took them out because general consensus seemed to be that because there's no way of knowing where they are, they are frustrating.

Yeah. The gas pockets exploded like C4 when you hit them.

how about if they exploded like TNT maybe? I understand the frustration drom destroying stuff around ... but if it was only a local explosion that would make you pay more attention to your hull I think it would make the game more thrilling. I think Hardcore is not hardcore without it

They might be frustrating but as long as they dont kill you in one blow I think they would be a nice addition. and in hardcore you would need hull repairs anyways...

I kinda liked the gas pokects. Made you have to think a bit harder about where to drill and whether to use bombs instead.
Obviously frustrating but that's why it's called a challenge.

It would be nice to have as a toggable option of sorts, but if we can't have both ways, probably keep them out. I remember playing the game when I was younger and never upgrading hull or fans because "I see the lava and I'm careful, why do I need either?" and of course, gas pockets made me sad :P
