You sir, are Mr Glass-is-half-full.
I guess I don't miss the half missing parts when what they've given us to drink is not very good.
*puppy eyes*
MMO = MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER. That means exactly a mass of people that can play together at the SAME TIME. That is the exact opposite of what you just tried to paint it as.
This is just a game with online play. There is no MMO here. MMO is a very well understood genre. Your attempt at spin makes me feel bad for you. So Unreal Tournament, Counter-Strike, Quake, and Battlefield, you would call these MMOs? Nice troll.
Last I checked MMO didn't mean "not singleplayer" lol.
Not to mention there is no massive ammount of players in ShadowRun Online lmao.
I bet you watch fox news too.
Counts as having multiplayer. Not being an MMO. Trying to claim it as one is just spin and bad spin at that.
CSGO has 30 people playing at once, not even at a hub. Still not an MMO last I checked. Battlefield has more than that. Who called Battlfield 4 an MMO?
Maybe Bethsoft.......
Would've said Gearbox, but well, look at what they did to Sega's generosity with Aliens Colonial marines... But I'm not bagging them out -I love that they are resurracting Homeworld.... I spent so many hours playing that when I should've been studying for exams........ Ah misspent youth........ lol ;P
Its frickin embarassing how far off you are. I would try to explain but clearly you have no idea what the difference between a multiplayer game and a massively multiplayer online game is.
If everyone who plays can meet in same hib like they promise and trade, talk and group to quest. It seems MMO to me.
I never got far to Waku but isn't Waku same way? A town a leveling area and rest small groups?
That more effective them posting angey posts but go ahead and do that too, it a free world.
For those who unhappy they not doing pen and paper rules look for the early accus videos they posted starring they would be using own and paper and might have s case.
I rather a few angery players get refunds then risk losing other players to all the negative comments.
We are not blaming anyone for assuming we would make an MMO (or apparently CoD...), we are just saying that the title is misleading and hence we changed it to prevent that. And yes, in our definition Shadowrun is planned as an MMO (similar to how Guid Wars was an MMO), with instanced missions, a central hub with live players inside and the ability to group up to go on missions as well as the various RPG aspects - to us that is already an MMO, but for some it is just a multiplayer version of a normal tactical RPG, because it lacks the massively part of MMO (other than in the hub) and does not have an open world map size. But we never inteded to build World of Warcraft or a 3rd person action game, neither did we advertise this. As the discussion shows the term does mean different things to different people - and this is exactly why we needed to clarify the name.
We have in the past refunded backers who felt we weren't delivering and are happy to try and work with people who feel wronged. However I would encourage people to wait and see if the addition of more MMO style features may raise the attractiveness of the game experience sufficiently for them.
