Changing allies and shifting party positions?

Current Inhumane Odyssey run (aiming to kill the Dark Dragon just short of 10000km) as Adventurer with a party of Iris, Mila, and Frieda, but I want to kick Frieda out so I can have someone else join.

Can't there be an option to part ways with someone without bringing murder into the equation? Even them not joining again is fine, though that handwaves how they can be swallowed by the Darkness and reappear as soon as 20km later (Mila's Dad even showed up THREE times within 60km in this dimension).
