Just found a Fix for Crash on Startup
So after going through every possible fix I have found also trying to contact the company directly via facebook and steam support via the email they gave me to contact them and getting no response from either I have personally found the fix for the crash. In the settings.ini folder located in "Program Files (86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Lords of the Fallen/" you will see a line that says "// the size of the main render window (e.g. 1024x768)"

So, out of curiosity I changed my computers resolution from what I originally had, "1920x1080", to what I saw in the settings file, "1024x768". Started up the game, and it launched. No problems.

The problem is, there is no line in the settings.ini folder that allows you to change this 1024x768 resolution to your current resolution. I tried changing the resolution in the game to my 1920x1080 resolution which worked but when I saved the settings, closed out of the game, changed my resolution on my computer back to normal at 1920x1080 and tried to startup the game again it crashed. This is extremely annoying since my icons and everything on my screen gets extremely massive and oversized with that resolution but it's the only way to run the game without it crashing when I start it up.

So a temporary fix to anyone who is having the issue of crash on startup and have never been able to play the game like me. Hope this helps someone and hopefully the company sees this and implements a fix right away.

Btw, changing the resolution that is in the parenthesis in the settings file won't do anything because if you know anything about code, the double slashes make that line of code a comment and isn't registered in the file at all. It's just to be able to write something in there without it affecting the code. So no point in trying to change the resolution that is in the parenthesis.

Kinda ridiculous that it allows you to change the resolution of the windowed mode in the settings but not the full screen mode.

EDIT: I found that if you actually start the game after changing the in game resolution to your current resolution and then exit the game, you can then change your resolution back to normal and open the game and it will be fine. It will not save your in game resolution if you have not started a game.

I just re-installed this game after switching over to Windows 10, and I'd like to say that this fixed my problem! Couldn't launch the game. It'd open a black window, then immediately crash and tell me Windows was trying to find a solution. Admin mode didn't work. Changing to 1024x768 did the trick and the game works and plays at 1920x1080 properly too.

Thanks!
doens't work for me.

On Windows 10 changing the settings.ini setting screen_size_windowed = 1920x1080 to match my 1920x1080 monitor resolution allowed the game to run perfectly.

for those who are still wondering how to fix this here is how to do it:
you add the line "screen_size_fullscreen = <your resolution>" under the line "screen_size_windowed = <your resolution>"
without the quotes. this will fix the instant crash issue and removes the need to change your screen resolution every damn time you wish to play the game :-) hope this helps allot of you guys, if not message me on steam and i'll try to figure out a way to help you :-) enjoy!

I think I found fix. You just have to run the game as admin! Go to the Steam\steamapps\common\Lords Of The Fallen\bin and run LordsOfTheFallen as Admin and it should work :tgrin:

This issue was solved for me by simply right clicking the Settings.ini file, select Edit, and then change "fullscreen = true" to false. Running W10 Pro Version 1607 (OS Build 14393.1066) with an RX 480 4GB & FX-8320
