Open Settings.ini and change video mode to fullscreen or borderless window.
More info on fextra.
Out of curiousity where should the settings.ini file be located? I have one located in the game folder in steamapps/common/LOTF but not in my documents/LOTF, is that correct?
1. Hold Windows button and press 'R' simultaneously
2. Type Dxdiag
3. Confirm by pressing 'OK'
4. Click 'Save all information'
I've gone into the settings.ini file located in \steamapps\common\lords of the fallen\ and changed the game to boot both in windowed and full-screen mode, both at 1080p. Hasn't worked either. I don't appear to have a settings.ini file in My Docs\Lords of the Fallen but I'm assuming this is because the game hasn't yet successfully booted to create it?
I've also gone through all steps provided on Fextra that I can (I can't perform the steps that need done in-game) which haven't worked either.
CITech Support emailed me and asked me to re-install drivers, switch off cloud sync and verify cache. This has not worked either.
Just to test I've also switched off the steam overlay which hasn't made a difference.
I am now reinstalling the game but this time to the C: drive (my SSD) to see if this makes a difference. I have Steam installed to D: which is just a data drive and non-OS so have setup a library on my OS drive to see if it requires to be installed there.
I'll keep you posted. Any other suggestions are more than welcome!
Kinda stuck at the moment and unable to play! Hopefully CItech email back with something else to try...
I decided to go to the extreme and use the reset feature in Win8.1 to wipe all data and set the OS to default. I backed up my data first of course. Once done I reinstalled Steam, installed Lords of the Fallen and attempted to fire it up again and voila, this time it worked!
Like I say, not a solution for everyone but meh, it fixed the problem for me. Now to give LOTF some attention...
Thanks to all who offered some kind of help, it was much appreciated!
