Whats with all the non-lethal stuff?
Ok, so I am sorta confused at all the non-lethal items that are in the game to fend off preditors and the only lethal thing I know of is the knife, So I am confused.

Is it lore baised? because for all I know something shot/emp'd your ship and thats why you crash in the first place. If the "company" or whatever your character works for does not approve of ruining the ecosystem of this beautiful planet then I say BALLS to that! your ship is making damn well sure to ruin the ecosystem by crashing into the planet, leaking radation(at least the repears like it) and exploding multiple times sending random crap into the vast sea, whats a few more fish corpses gonna do(no telling how much harm you are doing already with the simple act of removing a floater from a rock, that could of been another floating island in a few thousand years D: )

Soooo, anyone wanna explain to me why this is? (probably just a dev choice to prevent you from killing everything and to always make you fear the random bone shark)but if its a dev thing then i would like to know

P.S. Put some gunpowder in that freaking torpedo man :D it shoots mini whirl pools at an aquatic creature man, I am sure it can shoot ♥♥♥♥ that kills at LEAST a boneshark and maybe stun/tick off a reaper

Uh... you realize that this game isn't MEANT to be lethal, right? you're a TERRAFORMING ship. Not a battleship. The point of the game isn't to be some badass that rules over the ecosystem, the point is to live along side it and be the prey, not the predator.

It's a terraforming ship, so you're supposed to be prepping the planet for the arrival of more humans, meaning you can do what you want to the enviroment. You would have terraformed it anyway if the ship was still intact.

I know, but that still doesn't mean you would carry laser guns and light sabers, you would probably just nuke the place and then add land.

even though it is just a terraphorming ship they would still have some sort of security they wouldnt just go on a planet without something to defend themselves

this same conversation is always stupid everytime i see it......like, every five days we have this conversation XD. regardless, I think we should bury these types of discussion and just trust the devs to do things right :3

It's a dev choice. They are trying to encourage gameplay based on deterrents and evasion as opposed to outright slaughter.
these kind of posts just need to be deleted.. they're dumb and annoying.

So why would you have nukes?

Also in a terraforming mission not everything is gonna live through it.

People are sick and tired of all the identical discussions (ie mp, lethal weapons/nonlethal, etc.)

There have been a lot of threads on the same subject and it tends to devolve into rather spirited debate. So people tend to have a knee-jerk reaction when new threads on this subject come up.

Don't take it personally, though.

which is why you took the time to open it, and add a comment.

Anywho, thanks all to answered it, I did not know it was a terraforming ship, makes sense with all the terraforming crap. Though still, as mentioned above, it is odd that they did not have security or anything o-o Guess they thought it was a peaceful tropical ocean planet.
