I think it looks cool for 5 bucks.
But I would like to know also.

Just watch the promo video on our store page, it probably does the best job of explaining what the game's about. Hope you guys enjoy :)
exactly what the dev said :P

But in case you didn't wanna see it:

you are an agent of death. Someone has to die tonight. Don't care who it is (within 5 people I think)... or do you? For each person who dies, rolls on different events, you could change history forever. As you play the game, you will see how actually detailed the game is. With the backstory, the interviduals (sorry for spelling xD) that are there, all set with a different personallity, and always have a different view on things.

So to link back to your question... I wouldn't put a game type on it, but I loved it :D it's unique and brilliant concept that does open your eyes a bit if you can do a bit of reading :P

Postmortem is honestly a niche game for those who like deep narrative, dwelling on morality, and watching how unintended consequences of their actions play out. The ending is dynamically generated based on many different variables, so there's a good amount of replay value despite its brevity. Plus you can compare your actions with others via anonymous stats as extra food-for-thought!

In terms of quality, length and value for money, it's on par with games like Dear Esther, Home or Going Home I think. But like those titles, it's a unique and niche game so keep that in mind :) And the base game is free on our official website if you want to take a peek before deciding to get the extended cut!
I really enjoyed this game. My first playthrough was between 40 and 50 min. I talked to everyone about everything, and influenced their views on a number of issues. I explored the entire gala and found most if not all of the clues and items.

This game appears simple, but is very deep and well done, imo. The gameplay is simple yet elegant, and the story just gets deeper and deeper, as you meet people who are extremists, and others who are somewhere in-between. You learn that there are multiple agendas going on, and begin to question right and wrong. After all, is there a right choice if both sides are flawed?

You have the ability to change history, and guide an entire nation through very troubled times. Of coures, you must ask yourself, why do you care? You are an agent of death, meant to kill on command. The outcome will have no affect on you, and yet you are drawn into it. After all, how can you resist the chance to write history?

The game is worth the price, imo. If you are not a fan of this niche, but still want to get it, definitley pick it up while it is on sale. It may be a little pricey at normal price if you are not into these sort of games.

tl;dr: Its a good game imo, and definitly worth the sale price. If you are willing to sit down and put time into it and think, you will enjoy it. I know I did.
