Welll the game seems really fun but I just cant beat the first boss

Bunch of "I feel like..." Feel like Tom should run faster Feel that reloads are a bit too slow - I want to shoot! Not sure what hte issue is as I could run the game early in early access. Tried twice, the game hangs on launching ("preparing to launch" forever), rebooted (to get the game to stop running in Steam) and reinstalled and have same issue.
