VERSION 1.3 LIVE NOW - MAJOR UPDATE!
Hi all!

At last the 1.3 update is now live, fixing a ton of bugs including (for sure this time) the rare but deadly "stuck camera" bug in the Chasm level. AND now documents and logs in the PDA don't disappear on reloading/restarting...

Special thanks to Jazon Burnell for implementing these updates (and staying up late last night to build and rebuild...

I think we've got a very solid build now and even on laptops or other slow PCs, the game shouldn't glitch like it tended to do before. As always, let me know if you run into issues and I'll do my best to get them addressed asap.

Thanks as always for supporting my game!

Dave

Thanks for the update any chance of getting 2560x1080 support anytime soon for us 21:9 aspect ratio monitor owners as I understand Rust also supports that resolution & it uses the same game engine.

Thanks

Thanks guys! @AWPC I promise we'll take a serious look at this for the next update and add it if at all possible...

Thanks for the fixes! The biggest issue I had with the game, is the random FPS dips. Sometimes it would play really poorly. The first time I noticed it was at the russian town, and then it happened more and more in other places. Can that be fixed somehow? I think it has to do with the high quality option bieng ticked.

Oh, and my PC can more than handle it, so that's not it.

Ok thank you. It should be possible as Rust has native support & uses the same game engine!

Thanks again.

The biggest drain on performance is the lighting... all lights/shadows are rendered in real time. This is what allows dramatic (and detailed) player shadows even at a distance and lends to the overall aesthetic. Short of dropping these features for a more traditional look, there are a couple things we can do:

1. Upgrade the game to the Unity 4 engine.
2. Break up the larger terrains so the game isn't rendering out-of-site polygons.

Both of these are in process as I speak, though will be a while before they're ready for prime time. The good news is that these updates combined will make for big performance improvements, but without reducing any visual effects in any way.

While you're at it, look at adding support for triple screen users :) If you look at my thread on surround, the game has quite a few problems with scaling and HUD issues - hopefully all these can be resolved easily :)

Will do... I officially added this as a high-priority item in our issue tracker yesterday, including multiple screens. =)

I don't as of now anyway have more than one screen going at a time (maybe some time in the future) but once again absolutely fantastic job keeping up with your customers/fans David!

Hi David, as I undestand you are currently working on the new major update to the game. I wonder could you please consider adding some "official cheats" into the game which will prevent us from getting some achievements (like Rocketeer) but will allow to explore the maps. At least ability to use extended jeptack at any place of any level or respawn at the place where was able to successfully walk or stand to avoid returning from the last checkpoint in case of death would be great. This also will make achievement like "play for 10 hours" meaningful. Also it would be great to remove most of the invisible walls on the levels. They are really annoying and most of the time are placed in the places where you will never hit them if you wont deliberately go on the exploration. I like the game but replayability of the main story is very low while going out of the way and explore hidden locations is fun.
BTW, it will be nice to have an ability to skip cutscenes at least when you have seen them already.
