YMMV... On some system, they're as clear as can be. On my 1920 x 1080 27" monitor, I have no problem with the fonts. Everything is perfectly readable. You can't really judge it by the screen shots on the store page.

uggg. I mean why would they use one pixel for the letters. like the advisor text in the upper left. read that stuff. i'm going blind. i really really want to pick this game up because i love sins, civ, ac, etc. but the fonts. so sad.

the beta update fixed it for me. It is now totally readable. It vexxes me though. Such an easy thing to remedy and this game has been around years...Must be the release on steam they need to put on a good show...

Just wondering, when you say that's how it looks on your screen.. do you use the button with two red arrows on the corner ui to make it double size? Might produce a better screenshot to show for comparison of text if you did.

Just showing the main screen for see how good it looks shows nothing, some of the worst offences are in the sub screens, that said the icons in the left hand bar still look too small to me. There is a theme of small all over the UI which is just bizarre.

Its a great great great game but the UI is just to small in several areas and there is no need for it to be like that, just making some of the sub screens like the fleet screen/ship design etc etc would create the space for bigger iconography and text. I really have to squint when desinging ships because all the modules are represented by such small icons, it turns one of the most fun aspects of a space based 4X into a chore.

However it shows how great the game play is that I am willing to endure this to play the game. Most games would be insta shelved for having such a tedious UI.

Just right click game in library and go to properties. Select the beta tab. and opt in to the beta.
