I will make an open promise though that if there's a font mod (or an update) and I can read it, I'll buy both this game and their other one (Conquest of Elysium 4) on the spot without even waiting for a sale (as they look like they use the same engine.)
I REALLY want to play this game. Its design directions screams "instant classic" to me.
edited to add: I use a 23 inch 1920x1080 monitor and this screenshot should give you an idea of how low of vision I have.

My wife brought up a good idea: I'll make a video of my buying both games whilst singing the praises of a company/modder who would make the game more accessible for me AND add it to my list of games I stream on my twitch channel (so the games gets a little more exposure.) Maybe it'd be entertaining to watch me blindly (no pun intended) flail around a complex game whilst knowing hardly anything about its intricacies.
As for speaking to the developers, they do check these forums and reply from time to time, though it is probably quicker to see if someone can mod this.
Edit: I saw your posted picture, it does seem like the difference is minimal with how it is presented ingame. maybe using a different ingame resolution would make a difference, give me a few mins to test it.
Alright, tested it and although the difference is minimal it -MIGHT- be enough.
checked for your resolution - it is available in full-screen mode ingame, so that shouldn't be a problem.
What you could do is buy the game through steam, check it out for yourself, stay under the 2 hours and refund it if it isn't working out for you?
Basically, I need to be absolutely sure (which is why I'm promising to do so much.) I really hope the devs see this thread. I've got my wife and two buddies interested in these games too so if we're lucky and the devs are compassionate, there might be more than one sale here.
As an aside, my wife loves all the races, especially the Conan one.
Sidenote: quickly checked, currently the cheapest reputable (as in recommended by illwinter ) salespoint is http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-DOM4TA/dominions-4-thrones-of-ascension at €24,99. Oh, and do NOT buy it from desura, the price there is slightly inflated there ;)
Does gamersgate provide a steam key?
Well, that's[i780.photobucket.com] how this game looks _for me_ on my 1920x1080. Check this screen, and if font is too small for you then yes, it is. :(
Game itself really doesn't scale font for full screen - if you'll set lower resolution, font will be blurry, and that's all. But in window it scales to the window size - my shot is "fullscreen window" obviously.
Well, the offer stands, Devs.
