Linux version

I heard that Linux version will be available on Steam.
Does anyone know when?

Soon I hope. I already have the Linux versions of 1&2 'cos I contacted Basilisk. Works great on Linux Mint 12 and 14 (but I screwed up unpacking the tar.gz files and ended up having to create my own launchers and shortcuts!).

I saw this post at gamingonlinux.com too:) Developers are always so vague on details, sometimes I think that they are deliberately increasing suspense. Steam on Linux is a big deal, and it works great, though still in beta.

It would be great to hear back about this issue. I haven't bought Eschalon II yet (been too busy!), but I would buy it in a heartbeat once it's available for Steam.

Still no trace of the Linux version on Steam, even though it exists. I wonder if they're aware of the issue.

You can forward steam receipt message and ask for activation key for non-steam Linux package. That's what I did.

Sure I can, but I'd rather it be on steam. The more the Linux games steam has, the better.

I bought this game for Linux some years back and still have the tar.gz. Now linux games are on steam I would love to see it added. Hopefully I will be able to redeem my purchase and get a steam key. I also want to thank Basilisk games for supporting linux from the start. I will be getting III as soon as its released for Linux.

Oh and btw the linux versions are supposed to be coming after III is released according to gol.

The linux version appeared for me today, installed ~118M but won't run from steam: missing executable. Running eschalon_book_1 from a terminal works fine though.

Thanks for the nudge. It's there for me too. Missing executable too.

Can run from terminal, but I'm in no hurry at this point ;). I'll just wait for an update to fix that, sure to happen soon.
