However, perhaps you should follow this series of posts from the CEO of Colossal Order herself and stop being so pessimistic. Cities: Skylines is alive and well and will continue to move forward over the next couple of years at least.

Just wish the whingers would stop complaining about broken games everytime a DLC is released.
I wasn't flaming you, nor deriding your concerns. You may believe that your concern is legitimate. However, it has been less than 3 months since the last update and prior to that, there have been updates within every 5 months since the game was released a little more than a year ago. I see no cause for concern, nor any absence of activity on CO's part that should give cause. In terms of activity, it has been quite a busy year and your pessimisim is foundless.
As for 'news', as I said, since the departure of TotalyMoo, the previous community manager for Paradox, there has been almost no update news, nor announcements from either Paradox or CO in this forum. According to Supplican, the devs do not read or post here, and so that means that any news you see here will therefore come from those of us who have paid attention to other forums and brought any news of further developments to this forum. That is why I directed you to the Paradox forum, where the CEO of CO has recently started a series of posts detailing precisely what they are busy with in all aspects of their schedule.
CO are clearly continuing to develop this game according to their ambition to make this the best city builder. Paradox, the publisher may have plenty of new releases coming up, but that good news has no bearing on the developer of this game, Colossal Order.
If you are legitimately concerned, then I thought you would have appreciated the tip to assuage your fears, which I should hope are now dissolved.
