Yes, it works like charm and looks good. V-sync, x16 AA and widescreen right out of the box.

Damn, Silent Storm doesn't support 16*9 At least it works without downgrading PC.

Remember it when it was released. No one on earth did not have a computer that would run it well and when people had computers that did run it well, it not work with over 2gb of ram and more than one core on prosessor... This however works like a charm...

I was under the impression that Silent Storm wouldn't work on windows 7. Can somebody here please confirm this is/is not the case and/or if only the steam version works on windows 7?

(I've got a boxed edition)

Awesome game btw. I used to play it a lot on an old windows xp box until I lent it to a mate of a mate and....well, you know, never lend games or books - or cd's - or girlfriends. Well okay girlfriends are alright.

Anyway I've recently purchased the complete edition on ebay only to find it allegedly doesn't run on 7 (should've done my research *pre* purchase not post) but whatever. Now that it's available on steam it would be JUST my luck for the steam version to run but not my totally sweet pristine boxed edition all the way from Sweden *shakes fist at steam*.

yeah, but is that the steam/gog version or a boxed retail copy you're playing (I'm assuming the latter). Whilst I await your reply I'll go and look for a patch that I imagine Nival haven't bothered releasing that 'fixes' the retail version.

Windows 7 isn't the issue. Having 4GB or more of ram is the issue. There are third party patches to address the issue but yeah an official one for the retail copies would be nice.

I'm playing the new steam version on windows 7 64bit, I'm playing S3 @1680x1050 and S2 @ 1280×1024. They both look and play great even given the 10 year age :)

Don't see Dosbox popup. The devs on Greenlight said they were fixing the game to run on modern computers properly. Seems like they have. BTW it DOES seem to work on 16x9 as well
