[SOLVED] "Game not starts/ Can't play in 1080p"
Hi. yesterday i bought this game cause it was 86% off and i was to lazy to search my old DVD version. But sadly i realized that the steamversion is not starting if i select the 1080p resolution. I searched my old DVD again and instaled it from there and suddely it worked. After many uninstallations and reinstallations of my DVD version i figured out that its only a little change in the windows registry.

So thats the way how to fix (tested under Win 8.1)

1.) Open the Registry. Start->Run->regedit
2.) go to this path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Reality Pump\KnightShift\BaseGame\Graphics\Setup
3.) Edit the "ShowAllRefreshRates" by double klick on it and set the value 1 (default is 0 and this is not working)

Restart the game and it sould work also with 1080p :)

For ppl who dont want to do it manual, here i uploaded my finished registry on Share-online.biz which will change the value automaticly (just double-klick it):

Great fix, thanks for posting this. Worked like a charm. Silly that the game needed something like this to get it running anyway haha.

P.S: Just thought I should mention that I can't actually get to the game menu beyond the intro

Registry Fix works great ( Windows 7 ). Little twitch make such a difference :-)
Thanks for findig it out !
Before the change in the Registy i was only able to start the game in default resolution, with
default, lowest graphic. Every other change brought me back to setup.

Now i can run it in full HD resolution with all video effects on :player:
That sould be put into a patch to get distributed to all who had installed the game.

Great work!!
I had the same problem and I fixed it by installing the CD-Version. And then I uninstalled it without deleting or canging any registry files. Sure it´s not the finest way but it worked for me. ;)

Nice to hear that it works :). I already called steam support. maybe they add it ...idk. but until now i have no answer from them

@bloodsucker1992
y this was the way how i found out what the problem is. if you installed the dvd/cd version once it seems that it keeps the registry settings and will works also after uninstall cd/dvd version

I tried this, it removed the startup config and now ingame the resolution is at 1024 by 768 at 75 refresh rate, and when i try to change it the game crashes.
EDIT: by launching the config from the game folder I was able to change the resolution. Ingame it now says its running at 1080.

This works great, now I can replay this GEM of a game again. I just tried multiplayer with a friend on Earthlink and it worked well. I played this back in the day when it came out. Thanks for the fix Lenon_Light :-)

Nice, this worked to get the game running widescreen.

Too bad it makes the characters look like they tripled up in weight. :)

And I still can't even load the menu. The more strange thing is that the game used to run smoothly a while before (like a week or two) with no changes in hwrd/software in the meantime...
