Is it possible to mix online and local coop?

ie can i have 2 people playing at my PC, and 2 more online friends join the game as well.

Only the host can have multiple players so far.

So if I host I can use keyboard while my IRL friend uses gamepad, then have two online friends join me as well?

Right now, you need to play with controllers to have multiple players play together locally. We'll need to fix it so keyboard + controller can be used together, I'll follow up on this!

But yes, if you have 2 local players playing together on the same machine, 2 separate clients can join them.

Hi, do you still plan to allow local players to use keyboard for player 1 and a controller for player 2? Right now both keyboard and controller control the same character, pressing “Start” on controller when using keyboard does not add a player — and just opens the “Pause” menu instead.

If I get simondarveau's answer correctly, they try to fix that problem so one player can use a keyboard and the other one a gamepad.

Star_Inferno, yes, that's how I read it too. Yet this was written almost 4 months ago, a patch was released since (probably more than one), and yet this problem is still unsolved — so perhaps they decided not to do it in the end.

As with others in this thread, the lack of update on the above is a real shame. This looks like a fun game, even just for local co-op. But the inability to use keyboard and gamepad at the same time is a major problem :(
