Yes, but the beta is open to anyone who owns the game.
1, 2, 3 or 4 players!
What difficulty did you play on? Did you find it too easy, too hard or just right?
We started a new game at Normal, with an interesting mix of players : a very advanced player (at the shields), someone who played a long time ago (at the guns) and a newcomer (piloting). I guess the difficulty was okay/easy, especially with having someone really good at the shields at all time, reducing the need for players to shift from one station to the other.
I look forward to try "Hard" with 4 players eventually, in order to have a new challenge.
Thoughts : Before, when I used to let new players try the game, they often failed (at first) to understand who needs to be where/when. Now with 3 players, everybody seems to picks a "role" and stick to it, which seems to remove half of the game difficulty (running everywhere and communicate). We haven't played a complete game yet, but maybe adding a new mechanic that force players to change place would be needed.
Idea/suggestion : maybe having systems break when the ship takes severe damage, so players need to repair them?
Idea/suggestion : allow players to have pet(s) to complete the 4 characters crew (2 players controlling a pet each, 3 players sharing the control of 1 pet).
Note : the first time the tutorial is completed, when opening level selection, Dr Hopsy Flopsy speaks two long bubbles of text that cannot be skipped. If we ever go back to level selection before completing a level, the Bunny will repeat this unskippable message over again. Since we added a 3rd player while trying the first level, we ran into this text 3 times in a row. If you can do something about this, it would be appreciated :-D
We didn't have any technical issues. I agree that I'd like to be able to speed up the speech bubbles, but make that an option. If any player could skip the speech bubble with the press of a button, we would _never_ see the story with my button-happy younger son.
In any case, we had fun tonight! Good game, guys!
