Just finished my 5th playthrough, still learn some new stuff there, gonna go 6 :D
There's nothing I don't like about this game. I wasn't familiar with platforming challenges when started playing, but once I learn to do them I can always do them again (and they do give enjoyable variation from combat). Last thing that bother me was a platforming challenge having too tight timer on Godslayer difficulty, but turned out there's some tricks to do them easily. I know those trick now thanks to the forum, so I'm good.
Also, for an indie game that has only two dev, the graphics, animations, and the level of details are awesome. Really.
Plus they're still changing things based on feedback in order to improve their game, and more content is coming, for free (like xJoLL said, two other characters will be added)
And Zack is just too modest, he's the compositer of the OST, and his music is just wonderfull, it really makes the game shine.
This game is one of a kind, it takes all the good points from all the platformers, metrovanias, and swirls it up with cool rpg elements.
I'm so suprised of how much gameplay time I getting out of this unexpectadly big game.
definitley one of my favorite games of this year!
It is challenging, you might throw away your controller, and feel the blood pressure rising from playing this game. But its worth it man!
This is in stark constrast to Risk of Rain, whose controls I was able to grasp much better. The games are comparable in difficulty, I think (just with more RNG in RoR). I prefer the controls in RoR and find them much more intuitive.
Overall I vastly prefer RoR over VS. This is one part that I like the controls of RoR better and one part that I prefer Rougelikes to Metroidvania games. Both games have excellent graphics and awesome music.
