It is not recommended to assign X-Axis as Rotate.
The reason is...
1.To use mouse as a purpose of viewpoit movement, reaction of the mouse is too bad.
2.Direction may change unexpectedly when you touch the mouse while you are across the rope.
So, I controll movement with WASD key and assign "Q" key as rotate left and "E" as rotate right.
Incidentally, even if disabled the mouse, it is possible to aim with the mouse in Snipe Mode.
Question for all who played the old non-Steam version of this game: Was it never possible to look up and down? The controls are very good nevertheless, but I'm surprised it doesn't seem to be possible to look up and down.
but i've found out that it's pretty easy (without even thinking) to play WASD as any other game _and_ use arrows to rotate! you rotate with your right hand anyway, so the brain already knows what to do.
