I've got 200+ online hours clocked, and I only consider myself "competent" with the game.
Add me if you like, I can run you though the basics
Wargame has so many varibles and units to put into decks it's hard explain to new players.
Try to play with people the same level as yourself, and use the AI to test different strategies with different units until you find something that works. It takes time but eventually you will get better, don't give up.
someone once said about CoH - 'this game is about counters, if someone fields a unit then field the counter to it' e.g. in CoH jeeps could spot and chase snipers and AT guns were good vs tanks and that sort of thing. the same basically applies in this game. if the enemy fields spetsnaz or Li Jian 90 in a forest then sending inf in will basically be a slaughter so either send in vehicles or tanks or bomb/arty/napalm the ♥♥♥♥ out of em. if the enemy fields a T72BU then dont send in 8 medium type tanks head on, you will get outranged and outgunned. the best thing i use vs heavy tanks is atgm planes or helis.
as someone said above, recon is vital. RECON IS VITAL. you cant hit what u cant see. recon inf are good at hiding and spotting. just note that your unit in cover stops flashing if you are spotted. most people play offensively by sending small recon units forward and then picking off units as they get spotted . so if you are spotted then you will need to reposition or pull back. sniper recon is extremely hard to spot.
if you are using artillery then ALWAYS MOVE AFTER U FIRE. you should expect counter arty fire so using roads to quick move is good. best arty pieces for nato are british AS90 and the AMOS mortar for sweden (amos has 2 cannons i believe). you can queue a command with the shift key. the AS90 fires three shots so fast move queued commands are great. MARS for nato is goood counter arty. i like the ONDAVA for PACT and obviously the smerch is great for counter arty
navy warfare is basically spamming the most amount of anti ship missiles u can. PACT Jianghu ship has good CIWS and the nato chamsuri has decent CIWS. the kongo and the sovremenny have outstanding aa missiles so they will shred any plane that gets close. the F18 ASM planes are decent to outrange them and the SU27K is good for it too
always take aa
you have to micro your radar aa or it wil probly die
move expensive aa if u kill something because most people try to arty it
go as far and fast as u can at the start but dont overrextend
protect your flank. an enemy inf squad in your base can lose you the game super easy
if you get better then dont noobstomp, you will learn nothing
Tips won't help you much. There are dozens of small tips, tricks abd details which you should keep in mind playing wargame. Lisitng them here is quite worthless. You'd better watch yourself how top players play and make your own suggestions from it. Here is the link to one of those top players channel https://www.youtube.com/user/Cr4sHeRX
