Alternative Boss Outcome?
I just defeated Phantom Striker, and not only was his post-battle speech different, but he left much more gold than usual! My only guess is that I killed him as he was about to go into his homing electric ball attack. Could someone please enlighten me?

If you defeat him without taking hardly any damage, he'll indeed give you a greater reward.

So your bonus reward is inversely related to the damage you take. Does that apply to his post-battle speech as well?

As he is there to test Shovel Knight's mettle, his post battle dialogue and reward changes based on how much damage you take during the fight. He'll remember if you drank a Troupple Ichor too. Haha.

There are two outcomes: Silver piece reward and diamond reward.
