How does the detection for Electrokinetic Imprint work?

Looking at it on the wiki it doesn't say if anything effects it's detection or if you can detect it at all. Also can you cast it from stealth?

You will be force out of stealth when you cast electrokinetic imprint. As for npc detection of your traps, you'll need a dev to answer you.
