This error happens when your GPU isn't powerful enough to run the game, or when your GPU drivers are buggy and not working correctly for some reason. If your computer has a gaming GPU that is powerful enough to run the game, then you may need to update your drivers, or do a clean reinstall of them.

It can also happen if the game ends up using an integrated GPU (Intel) instead of your gaming GPU (AMD or nVidia). You may need to use your GPU's control panel to force the game to use the right GPU. You can google, or go to the GPU manufacturer's website to get help on how to do this.

If you can't resolve the problem yourself, please email us for tech support so we can collect more information about your computer. We will need to know more info about your computer in order to help.

This is either due to using an ancient GPU, or the driver install being messed up for some reason. If you're using a really old GPU (more than 5 years old), you'll probably just have to upgrade. If your GPU driver software is somehow broken, you might need to do a clean reinstall of the latest version.

I am having this same issue. I reinstalled my drivers and I am using a new laptop that uses Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 TI. Any help would be appreciated. (I really know nothing about computers so I probably won't be able to solve this on my own. By some chance if I do stumble upon a fix I will post it here.)
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Gaming laptops tend to have both discrete GPUs and built-in ones, so in this case probably both an Intel and nVidia one. We try to send the right flag so that nVidia Optimus automatically picks the right GPU, but it's possible it could be acting up. Try using the nVidia control panel to force the game to use the nVidia GPU. You can Google for instructions on how to do that.
