Windowed Mode
Because the game looks atrocious in full screen on a modern monitor, (Stretching and so forth.) I opted to play the game in windowed mode. However, no matter how I modify the configuration files, or the launcher prompts it still launches in full screen. Is there any way to get around this? I want to try the game out but with the width and height stretched to a nutty extent it kinda kills the enjoyment.

Thanks

What platform are you using? And could you send your system specs as well? We will try to find a solution for this :)

Always reproducible on windows. In advanced, disabling fullscreen changes nothing.
Whatever makes this work better on HD monitors like 1920x1080 should do.

I'm currently playing the game on Windows 7.

I'm running win7-64bit as well with a 1920x1080 monitor (24"), perhaps I'll skip this one until a solution is found. Good luck. :endregateeth:

If you go to Steam\steamapps\common\Shadowgrounds\Config and open the options.txt
You want to change some of the lines to look like this:
maximize_window = 0 window_titlebar = 1 windowed = 1

Then resolution also needs to be one of the default resolutions in the setup (otherwise this won't work). You can set it from the options.txt also. You can try this and then change it later ingame:

screen_height = 960 screen_width = 1280

Let me know how it goes!

Will do, thanks!

You can also try this, which should give you windowed fullscreen (no borders) with maximum resolution. You can actually set it higher than what is possible through the launcher, and it seems to work flawlessly. Of course, set the resolution to fit your own screen:

maximize_window = 1
screen_height = 1080
screen_width = 1920
window_titlebar = 0
windowed = 1

If you have an NVidia card, just set the GPU to not scale the aspect ratio. Then you can set the game to a 4:3 resolution and have black bars on the sides. It will retain the proper aspect ratio and allow you to crank up to 1280x1024 or 1600x1200. (You can't get 1600x1200 on 1080p monitors.)
