As for the story, there is a background story of sorts, the intro tells you some basics and the main menu features snippets of the gameworld's history popping up at the bottom but most of it will be explained gradually during the game, much of which will be in the form of timeline entries shown before your battles against the other factions, but that's just information, it doesn't interfere with gameplay.
The story only becomes really important later in the game when some story events start happening that'll stir things up quite a bit.
Very cool of you to drop by and post your impressions. I'm pleasantly surprised and pleased it is running so well on your integrated graphics card.
The Salvation are one of my favorite factions to play. They take a real finesse touch, and good movement and distancing between your target(s) to make maximal use of the energy drain weapon, without straying into melee range and getting pulverized. The shield can be used to pretty good effect, too. I find myself in a "flow" when I play them, finding the sweet spot between dealing damage and absorbing energy to stay alive. You do miss out on having a big area explosion weapon like the other factions, but that deficiency is made up for in other ways.
Pfft, integrated graphics cards are too high tech :P
Just installed the game on my 10'' notepad (Lenovo Flex 10 ideapad). Playing as the Wyr and doing fine so far :)
Hahaha, now that's pushing the boundaries just a little. :P
Throwing explosives is like sending little bundles of joy out into the world.
We invaded Jalakkar and beat the Unity there in my first land battle as a Wyr.
I learned two things:
I am too used to playing Salvation
Trying to target using touchscreen is not advisable and doesn't work all that well :P
