Here's what I did to get my copy working properly

Hi everyone, I just got this on Humble, and I had some issues getting it working, but I was able to fix it using the advice from these forums and from PCgamingwiki. I figured it would be good to compile the steps I took here for you all.

First Problem: Game crashed at launch
Solution: I'll paste what PCgamingwiki says " Go to the "redist" folder inside the game's folder. Use PhysX_SystemSoftware.exe to uninstall and reinstall PhysX."

Specifically, I used the "repair" option in the exe.

This got the game to at least launch, but I couldn't get past the startup logos

Second Problem: Game crashed after company logos
Solution: Went here: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Deadly_Premonition#DPfix_0.9.5 and installed the patch. This also had the nice side effect of making the game run in 1080p. Nice!

Okay, so the game's up and running now, and I can play it. Things go good, but I reach a part where my character needs to aim upward further than he seems able to. This one's probably the weirdest issue with the game, and the weirdest fix.

Third Problem: Character can't aim upwards
Solution: Go to the game's directory. Right click DP.exe, click properties, click the compatability tab, set it to "Run in compatability mode for windows 98". Click apply.

THEN: Right click DPLauncher.exe, click properties, go to the compatability tab and click "run as administrator".

Everything should hopefully work now. I hope you find this helpful

I would add that I followed these same steps, but had to delete Windows Security Update KB2918614 before I could reinstall PhysX. Game still crashes occasionally but is playable.
