Soundodger+: Big Update! Yes, this means 60fps mode o.o
Behold, Soundodger+ has been updated with a whole bunch of fixes and additional features!

First, the good stuff:
  • Audio Settings and Visual Settings added to Options screen (details below)
  • 60fps mode: Play the game at 60 frames/sec! This will be more intense on the cpu, so be sure to keep "frame throttle" turned on (more on that below). Still too choppy? Try turning off VFX, using Fullscreen Fast (F5), or playing in windowed mode.
  • Frame throttle: Keeps the game in time during any slow down (performance issues). It's probably good to always keep this on, even at 30fps.
  • High contrast: Makes bullets really dark or really bright, depending on the background color. Great for if you have trouble seeing the game in its original color schemes.
  • Show hitbox: displays the circle inside of the player that determines collisions with bullets. For more info, consult the page about hitboxes in the Help screen, via Options.
  • SoundFX and Music volume controls: Set the volume of both the game sound FX and music, even muting them for some reason!

Additional stuff:
  • Ability to select Zen/??? modes using keyboard/controller at Song Selection screen
  • Controller triggers quickly scroll through Song Selection list
  • Auto-Gen highscores are saved: Displayed at level start and again when you finish.
  • Auto-Gen Zen: Hold Z when an Auto-Gen level starts to play in Zen mode (it'll say "zen mode" above the song name when the level starts)
  • Invert BG to black in Editor: From the Settings > Custom Color screen, you'll see a "bg" button. Click it to toggle the BG between white and black!

Fixed stuff:
  • Slow-mo and black backgrounds should extend to monitor edges (non-16:9 displays)
  • Improved Auto-Gen level creation (levels might be harder now. Oops?)
  • Fixed bug where restarting at the end of a level would produce odd effects
  • Fixed bug where Zen mode from main game would be active in Auto-Gen level
  • Fixed bug where game would be stuck in slow-motion when starting a level
  • Fixed bug where Editor graphics appear off-center on certain monitor setups (hopefully)
  • Fixed bug that displayed Song Selection levels incorrectly
  • Multiple info texts in corner no longer overlap
  • Senioritis (Normal) difficulty changed to 3/5
  • Spelling of D.WIGHT changed throughout game
  • Replaced "Waves From Nothing" music with remastered version
  • Updated hitbox page in Help section to be more accurate
  • Pressing controller buttons in Editor will prompt to exit to Title screen
  • Alert prompt when exiting game

That should be it! I'll be updating the FAQ thread to reflect these new changes. Thanks for your suggestions during launch! You can see a lot of things made it into the game. Enjoy!

Do you have resolution settings yet? Kind of annoying to play in a tiny box on a 1920x1080 monitor :/

Press f4 or f5
Good update. Thank you.
Cool, thanks heaps.
Great ! Thanks !
Stopped playing shortly after release due to lack of 60fps. Nice to see the feature finally make it in! Looks and feels great, huge difference.
Would it be possible to get a 120 fps mode? I thought I could manage with 60 but it just feels awful which makes me sad because I love these kinds of games.

I don't think 120 can happen, at least with Flash. Try turning off visual effects and either playing windowed or at fullscreen fast (F5).

Is there some sort of limitations in Flash or do you think it just won't run that fast? When you get used to 144hz mouse movement going back to 60 is like taking color away from the picture.

That's a Flash issue. The framerate is more of a speed limit. So Flash tries its best, but if it can't meet the framerate requested, it won't worry about it. 60fps is difficult enough to maintain, and my tests with anything higher have been unsuccessful. Of interest, though, is that the maximum you can set the framerate is 120, so maybe someone's figured it out.
