Visited the doctor to restore 2 lives and only had to pay 1 gold, thus the game resolved this as a single transaction. I guess this means when you buy multiple items, you do not get a 1 gold discount on every item with a cost of 2 or more, instead, the final price is reduced by 1.

Is this working as intented, ie no matter how many items you buy or how much you pay for a service, it counts as a single transaction and this ability triggers if the final price is 2 or more?

Based on the wording on the Courtesan character card, I think it's working as intended.

Yeah, I had a question about this as well.

I wound up reasoning to myself that it was like shopping at a retail store - she picks all of her items to buy, head to the cashier and make one sales transaction, then the she flashes a little skin "accidentally", the teenage boy running the till does what any red-blooded teenage boy would do and gets very distracted, and she short-changes him a little :).
