Since we didn't really changed much but all of a sudden many got the game working, we strongly suspect it's either anti-virus or other system programs that prevent starting our game. Please make sure your anti-virus program is updated, and that all windows updates have been installed. (Or update/install if missing and try to start the game again). Also, try the steps from the FAQ. If still issues, please let us know.

Let me say that my first launch failed as well (few patches ago). The game starts well if "Windowed mode" checked on though.

jwholmes82, we have a strong suspicion, the game is blocked by Norton 360. This is one of those AV programs you can't really disable or exit from. So, I would recommend, when you have spare time, to uninstall 360, run the game and see if it works. And of course install again, you don't want to leave your computer unprotected.

That's an easier one to handle! First of all, make sure no other games are running. If you have to, restart your computer and don't open any applications, and then start the game. Something might be running that doesn't let the game to create 3d.

i reset my computer and it did not work, the game worked fine for me a few days ago untill recently i started geting that error message

Please try to reinstall the game, or verify integrity of the game cache. Also, please send us any log files and dxdiag file, and also a screenshot of the error to [e-mail].

Since the last update the game is not starting anymore from steam (even launcher isn't starting).
When I'm doubleclicking on launcher exe the launcher is starting and I could choose the settings I like. But the game won't start. Eisenwald.exe didn't show up in taskmanager, I didn't get an error message, nothing happens.

Before the update the game did run well (even if I got some crashes) the system itself didn't change same graphics driver etc. I reloadeed the exe files several times.
