Is there a way to adjust graphics settings?

I can only find resoulution. Is there some sort of way to turn the graphics down so they're a bit smoother. The game only runs properly when my laptop is plugged into the wall.

Turn off subtitles, playing it in a window instead of full screen helps a little, that's about it. I'm using an older laptop and although most of the game so far has been playable, I can't get past the strong men (mutants) in carny because of the low frame rates. By the time the words come up to type, he's already attacking me. Oh well, time to save up for a gaming rig.

Right-click on the game name in your library, select properties, click on Set Launch Options under the General tab and type in [disable-post-processing] without the brackets. This will help speed things up a bit and get rid of the out-of-focus look. Note: you will only be able to run the game in a window with this option running.

If the game only runs properly when your laptop is plugged into the wall, you have to change your power plan when it's unplugged.
