You enjoyed it for those reasons you listed right there. The combat isnt terrible its just not that great, I still enjoy it but it is a little over simplified which I can forgive cause honestly its well paced and what you are really after is just experiencing the game, the story and characters.
Andy Serkis should do more games Monkey is such a great character. You wont see another agressive brute archtype done this well anywhere else.
short game, but very well done.
other games i would recommend:
Uncharted 1-3 and the Jak and Daxter trilogy (again; only if you have a PS3)
You are 100% right! this game is so nice that I just can't stop playing it!
There are just right proportions of plot, adventure, fight and platformer. You also have to use your brain :)
