Its not as great as most of the Total War game's I have played (and lets face it, this is basically a Total War game), but its got enough unique mechanics like the quest system to keep it entertaining in its own right. I'd recommend trying a Tyrant playthrough at some point. I found that much more entertaining than doing a Rightful playthrough, but it's a little more difficult at first since most of the good early knights are Rightful. Later on you can get some good evil characters. You can even recruit an unseelie hero at one point if you play your cards right.
