Volume. Too quiet?
Hi folks,

Finally got it working after struggling with Ubisoft's apparently low capacity servers and their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ uPlay junk, however I have noticed the game is quite low volume for myself.

Everything is set to 100 in the options and my own comptuer volume is full whack.
Anybody else have this problem?

I know it's not me as I play hundreds of other video games and watch movies and tv shows on my computer every day. Volume is fine for everything else.

Conversation at the start of the game sounded like I was listening to it from another room.

Cheers.

It did seem a bit low, I fixed the issue by using a headset.

I use headphones already so that won't be the fix for me, cheers though appreciate the input.

I noticed the exact same thing. I'm an OCD freak when it comes to volume levels on my gaming setup, and this is the first game I've ever played on it for which I had to turn the volume up.

Do you use anything in particular for volume control or just the inbuilt windows one?
I have Realtek HD audio manager but that just regulates default windows levels I think

What helped my friend was changing his speaker configuration in Windows. If you have stereo and the speaker configuration is set to surround sound, you will notice the low audio as you are missing the additional channels. Most games would let you change in-game to stereo, but there was no such option in Watch_Dogs.

To hopefully fix it, follow these instructions:
1. In the lower right of windows, right click the speaker icon and choose playback devices
2. Right click the device that has a green checkmark (default device)
3. Click on Configure Speakers
4. Set Audio Channels to Stereo and continue through the rest of the prompts

Re-launch the game, and hopefully you'll have normal audio :D

I appreciate the input but I'm actually already set to stereo. I spent a few years of my life doing sound production so I'm pretty great with all of the actual audio set-up haha

I was wondering if maybe it's a something software related or maybe a game .ini I can change or something.

Some googling has shown I'm not the only one with the issue but so far no fix

Ubisoft games have had a history of bad audio. I don't know why, it's either too loud or too quiet. My experiences with it have been that it's too loud at some points and others it's too quiet.

yup its very low volume

Same issue.

Well, glad to at least see I'm not alone.

Makes me wonder if there's a master volume hidden in some file somewhere that needs to be tweaked. I exited the game this morning and forgot that I had turned the volume up enough to hear the game, I nearly lept out of my chair when I went to go watch the Tek.

same problem here ... everything is set to stereo, but still missing volume & dynamics, maybe they don't use the windows channelmapping/mixing?

edit: it seems restarting my whole system somehow made it better, let's observe ...
