Rami RNG Challenge

Hello. In the past the challenges were not quite as perfessional as they would become. For those looking to repeat old challenges or see what is contained in the past I have posted this revised variation of the challenge based on current formats. The unmodified challenge is still maintained below the update.

Run Specific Rules:

• Players may select any character.
  
• Players must select Laser Brain, Shotgun Fingers, Bolt Marrow, Last Wish, Euphoria, Racing Mind and Extra Feet if they are an option.
  
• Players must start with the golden wrench or Chicken's sword.
  
• Players must have a melee weapon for the entire run.
  
• Players cannot use or trade for any weapons other than melee and bullet weapons.
  
• Players must take Crown of Death, Crown of Guns or Crown of Hatred if they enter a vault.
  
• Victory is based on distance.

To everyone who is reading this I am sorry as usual. At the very end of the challenge deadline the pressure got to Wizard and he went completely off the rails with a dual melee victory at Loop 1; 5_3.[www.twitch.tv] Honorable mention goes to Qinji who may not have won, but still has hold of his faculties and Meow who was over come with blinding rage (and may still be blind).

Hello. Last week things were a little too soft so some modifications have been made.

In the past Nuclear Throne's RNG system has, on occasion, been charitably described as cruel and unusual. When personified it has taken on the characteristics of an internet troll named Rami RNG who delights in nothing more than giving players exactly what they don't need every step of the way (no relation to the kind heart-ed Rami person obviously). This challenge attempts to satiate the beast's appetite for deep sadness and blinding rage through repeated sacrifice; your sacrifice.

The person who posts the furthest most single player recording of a Nuclear Throne run while holding onto a melee weapon through out the run and limiting their crown/mutation/weapon selection before June 7, 2014 will receive a game via steam (note the rules below).

Run Specific Rules: Each run must start with a character that has a melee weapon unlocked for it (golden sledge or Chicken's sword). Officially for it to count the player must enter and exit every level with a melee weapon equipped[nuclear-throne.wikia.com]. Players are allowed to drop melee weapons during a level as long as they equip a melee weapon before exiting the level. One melee weapon can be exchanged for another during the run. Players are allowed to pick up and use “bullet” type weapons[nuclear-throne.wikia.com], but may not use anything that is not a melee or bullet type weapon. Melee weapons that use ammo of any type are still allowed. When selecting mutations players must select Laser Brain, Shotgun Fingers, Bolt Marrow, Last Wish, Euphoria, Racing Mind and Extra Feet if they are present in the mutation selection screen (if multiple mutations listed are offered there is no preference as to which one must be picked first). If a player has the option to choose crowns they must pick between Crown of Death, Crown of Guns or Crown of Hatred (one crown can be taken repeatedly, but a crown must be taken each time). There is no limit to character levels; all character abilities can be used.

Complete Standard Rules: The run must be done with update 29 (the current update). After the run ends please leave the death screen up for at least 5 seconds so the end level can be confirmed; the distance of the run will be determined by the death screen assuming it appears accurate (and thus will determine who wins). For this run the distance of the run can also be determined by the last level where the character spawned with a melee weapon (the ending distance in this case will be determined by the last level where the player had a melee weapon before failing to keep it). In the event of a lock up the last level that fully loaded (and was seen in the video) will be counted as the final level. The official time cut off time for responses to this post will be at 11:59 pm on Friday, June 6th, 2014 (right before it becomes June 7th, 2014) based on the GMT time zone (but because I am a stupid American I MAY accept runs that are posted after that time). The player who does the best in the challenge will be offered a game. (yes, games other than nuclear throne will be the reward although do not expect anything too new or expensive). The game cannot be modded aside from the use of recording software. The run must be done on a version of the game that all Nuclear Throne players have access to. The video must also be viewable in the U.S. so that I can confirm the run happened (strongly suggest Youtube or Twitch). The videos must be imbedded in responses to this post or have a direct link to the video in the response to this post. Please do not put any visual or time related edits (aka cuts) into the video during the duration of the run (audio edits and voice overs are fine). If you pause or go afk during the run just leave it in the video. If there is a tie I will give the win to the earliest post in response to this (it will be based on when the response is made in steam and not when the video is made). Previous challenge winners can still win this challenge. Members of the Nuclear Throne Dev Team and people associated with the Dev Team can enter the challenge. Whoever wins will have to accept their game through steam by using the friend system (yes, this means I will friend the winner to pass over the gift, no you are not required to keep me on the friends list after the exchange). I should get around to claiming the victor and trying to contact them around June 7th, 2014 (but that is entirely on the basis that my internet provider remembers to pay their electric bills again).

It seems pretty clear. I just want to clarify a couple of things. Can the option of "no crown" be selected or does a crown have to be taken if it is offered? It seems like a crown has to be taken currently (which is fine--I just want to make sure that's right). Also, any melee weapon that uses ammo of any kind--it's probably best to list the non-standard ones just to be clear (energy screwdriver, energy sword, energy hammer, jackhammer?, blood hammer?, flamethrower/dragon?--probably not, I would assume). Also, just to clarify because it's not on the list currently, the smart gun is also a bullet weapon that can be used (it will probably be added soon--I didn't get a picture, but I just found it and it seems pretty good--could be great with recycle gland).

Oh, and it's called "extra feet," not "extra leg."

One of the listed crowns must be taken if you activate a statue.
I listed the melee/bullet weapons allowed. It is not mentioned, but you can save a bullet/melee weapon in the proto chest if you want.
Yes, The Smart Gun sounds pretty sweet and I'm sure it would be super awesome with Recycle Gland... if you can get Recycle Gland and can live long enough to get the gun; Rami RNG has little care for your hopes and dreams.

I did a run with rebel half an hour ago where i crushed the place with the sword. Its a massacre what you can do there, even the Guardians don't have a chance to survive or damage you!

Meow's got it; you only have to take one of the "required mutations" if they show up.
