This isn't the actual game

I find it very surprising the number of people complaining about how this isn't the real game or a playable demo of the game. Can that many people really not read, or do they just rampage through steam clicking on any pretty little download icon without paying attention to what they're putting on their computer?

The problem is that on steam it says 'download demo'. Not 'download inaugration station' or 'download something that isn't a playable demo'. I saw the download demo button and thought "great! I can see what the fuss is about."

Demo is short for demonstration and, yes it is a demonstration. Also, it says inauguration station in the title of the download and multiple times when it describes exactly what this demo is (character creation). Don't blame the video game companies for your poor literacy skills or impatience, whichever it may be.

The Saints Row IV store page says nothing about Inauguration Station and never says exactly what the demo is before running it. Yes, after it is downloaded and running you see what it does, and going to the store page of the demo you can finally read the description from the video game company to test your poor literary skills, but nowhere on the full version Saints Row game store page does it say anything about a character creation demo. It would be nice if the full store page said what the demo is. I can understand the confusion and it not having anything to do with bad reading comprehension.

I did look at the Steam page. The Saints Row full version game page. That is where everyone is downloading the demo from. Demos usually do not have their own Steam page. I just checked other demos I have downloaded. Went to the game, clicked Store Page, guess what? It takes me to the full version Store Page of each game, where nobody says anything about the demo. This is the only demo I am aware of that has its own Store Page, that you really only get to by clicking Store Page after it is already downloaded.

Nope I downloaded directly from steam and didn't use the saints row page until i needed to create an acount for uploading my first character. Also, I bet on the Saints Row site they never say "hey guys, check out this awesome gameplay demo... It's super fun and full of awesome gameplay!!!". Before you put anything on your computer it's a good idea to know what your downloading. Something as simple as google would've solved all your problems

Same here. From Steam. From Saints Row IV main Steam game page. Download demo button right there. Nowhere on that page does it give any details. So, there is nothing to read before downloading there. Show me where on the Saints Row IV Steam Store page, where everyone is downloading the demo from, here on Steam, that it says what the demo is about. I do not have a problem. You seem to have a problem that I can understand why someone would expect a completely different type of demo, or that the place to download the demo from, on the Steam Saints Row IV Store Page, says nothing about the demo, that you claim people are not reading and have a hard time with reading comprehension. If it really said something about the demo on the Steam Saints Row IV Store Page then nobody would need Google. You cannot have it both ways. I am not talking about any official Saints Row webpage, I am only talking about the Steam Saints Row Store Page, where people are downloading the demo from, that says nothing about the demo itself.

agian, google it or read the description. I read the description and it siad "create your character and get ready to play Saints Row 4 when it comes out". I knew exactly what I was downloading and I didnt have to look any further than the steam page for all the info needed. I can't explain it much clearer than that so if you still dont understand the concept of reading something I'm afraid I can't help you. Good day.

Nowhere on the Steam Sants Row IV Store Page does it say anything about what the demo is. I can read just fine. If something was there to read. Right now, bring up the Steam Store Page. There is nothing there about the demo or any character creation. Yes, "Saints Row IV Inauguration Station" has its own Steam Store Page, where, yes, it DOES tell what it does. But nowhere, right now, on the Saints Row IV full game page, does it say anything about what the demo does. Since it was released that is where people are downloading the demo from, and that is where it says nothing about what the demo does. I can read, and understand, just fine. Maybe before it was released the Saints Row IV full game store page said something else, but right now, today, after release, there is NOTHING about the demo there to read.

Why would the game page include all the info about inauguration station? Thats why they have a demo page. Are you really telling me all of these people never thought to look on the actual demo page even though they were downloading the demo? I've lost hope in humanity

And as I said before, other demos do not have their own store page. Go to the main Steam Featured Store page. Up top, click Demos. Start to go down the list. Click on each Demo. Guess where it takes you? They all take you to the full game store page, not to a demo specific Steam store page.

Where on the Saints Row IV full game store page, with the Download Demo button, does it give a link or any hint that the demo has a seperate Steam store page? Steam and Deep Silver are treating "Saints Row IV" and "Saints Row IV Inauguration Station" as two completely different Steam items because of the two completely different Steam store pages.

This Saints Row IV full game and demo situation looks to be the rare exception and is not the standard rule here on Steam. I guess I lost hope that you would understand that. People do not think to try to find a demo specific Steam store page because other demos do not do this. Just in case, I clicked on Store Page of every single demo I currently have installed. They all take me to the full game Steam store page. Not a single one of them has a seperate Steam page just for the demo by itself.
