What the…?

Hi… I just tried to play JD2… but the very first level starts with an obstacle that is impossible to pass. The game doesn’t show any explanation or hint. And the controls screen shows the wrong keys…
So… what am I supposed to do?

Also the game takes way too long to load (I have all my steam games on a USB3 HDD that I measured at 98MB/s, although that was copying a 1GB file, not many small ones).

Edit: by « shows the wrong keys » I mean that I don’t use qwerty, so I remapped the keys, but the screen still shows the original bindings.

And after trying to try the game again, I want to add that the main menu makes no sense at all… you have to randomly click on objects on the screen (something that the game does not tell you, as it only tells you to press any key or something like that) and then random things happen, like being stuck watching a stupid video for minutes with no way to go back and thus being forced to alt-f4 and restart the game… Meh :(.

The game is awful, just uninstall it.

This is a FILTHY console port.
The devs probably jumped on the Steam bandwagon and didnt originally intend to make a PC version.
Hence why they can't show the right control buttons on screen depending on the user's config: they didn't program the game with this intend from the get-go.
It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hardcoded in the game!

For those who launch the game and immediately go into "ultra hard preview":
no, you're not supposed to do that. When the game starts, press enter to enter the main left-right menu. Press right till you enter Movie Mode. Thats where the main game is. After you complete some levels, you may want to go to "Deleted scenes", its on the left of main menu entrance (just keep going left). Mouse doesn't do much in this game (oh, you can click on left-right arrows and some screens).

Yeah, menu is confusing at the start.

Ultra-hard preview: when it starts, double-jump + boost to fly over the obstacle, its one of the hardest levels in the game (don't know who's idea was to put in there).

Hey thanks Shinigami, with your help I was able to (I think) start the game normally… But then the game is still unplayable, the cart keeps turning on itself (making wheelings) and the UI sucks so much I’m not able to change the sound volume. I’ll just uninstall that crap again.
