Hey guys, its time for another Community Question. This one (hopefully) will make you think a bit.

Imagine you're the owner of EGS and Guncraft. You have a team of devs (and community staff) who are willing to shape the game as you see fit. Basing your answer on the current build of Guncraft, what is the first thing you would get them (us) to do?

I would try to keep the updates up to date. Try to encourge players to join. I would improve upon comments about the custom guns, Because the pre nerf guns made it to the WORKSHOP and they need to stop.
Graphical/physics/material updates such as actual water and water effects to go with them as well as an upgrade to the building system.

PS. QuartedSaphire has a very good point about the pre-nerf guns and updates.

Some sort of single-player story mode. I wouldn't try making it elaborate or great. Just a simple single-player story mode where you fight simple enemies like the bots from Onslought. But the gameplay would not be like Onslought. It would be several missions with different objectives. The story would be something like "The robots have gone rougue! They're causing chaos and destruction everywhere! It's your job to take 'em down!"

With Guncraft being (pretty much) a multiplayer only game, many people are leaving because of the lack of players to play with. A single-player story mode would keep many from leaving, as they could at least play the story mode on different difficulties to keep them busy while waiting for Guncraft to become more populated.

I'd also try finding every un-rebalanced gun and either remove them, or force a rebalance. There are several in the workshop that could easily be found and dealt with, but there are many more in the personal collections of several of the 'vets'.

One more thing would be an in-game tutorial. It seems there are folks who think Guncraft is a horrible game, and one of the reasons they give is that it doesn't have an in-game tutorial about the different modes, features, and controls of Guncraft.
Maybe switch a few things on Paranoia. It's a fun mode and all don't get me wrong. It's like Trouble in Terrorist Town with a twist. But I think you should make it maybe a little more like TTT. And make something like COD zombies. Which I know thats going to be a put down thing and I couldn't complain if that idea is already in the trash. Because I know that's. Or to me. A little too hard to do.
Another thing is, I think I saw this before, but custom backgrounds.
A single player like story. But I think if you have a good enough imagination you could make a story out of Onslaught.
Also one more thing. I don't know how this would go but I would like to see a little more work on the lights. I really like how you guys did them it's just that it's a little akward to see you First Person hands and gun be lit up when its dark all around you.
Add server support for other countries, for example Russia. Sometimes I just can't join a server
Make it so the custom guns have higher stats than the default ones. also make materials more unique for instance steel can absore bullet damage but not explosives, and wood should be able to burn. Also a flamethower class would be good and a new gamemode which is a tank battle with 4 tanks and 2 anti tank cannons on each side and 3 classes for tanks light, medium, and heavy. the classes should have opitions of tanks that can be created by player in the way which guns can be. A new modern artillery turret would be awesome it could be based off the flak 88 and it should have an advantage when dealing with tanks. its alot so some of it I guess should be packaged in a DLC

Totally NO higher custom gun stats! Custom guns diserved under powerment. I disagree with you snj04. Make more materials? Block packs! Also make a flamethrower class and a new gamemode does not make any since at all. A tank game much? Make a new DLC? Pay for a gamemode? Uhh No! Your ideas are kinda twisted and disagree with you. To me I just disagree with that.

his idea's aren't as bad as some other gun complaints I've heard :P
Actually, On the gun power thing, The options like RECOIL or 'affected by gravity' are almost never taken because they add no good OR bad. I say, Add MORe points if one takes one of these 'cons' to a weapon they're making. Maybe add more cons that would add points to your total, Say.. Heavy (Run a little slower) Jam % (How often the gun might 'jam' needing a 'reload' action) etc. Giving 5 or 10 or such extra points for any 'flaws' added to a gun.

What are you talking about? lots of people love tank games why do you think people love world of tanks? to spend lots of money on a game they hate? This game needs new interesting game modes that people will play. also the materials are unrealistic, and many people complain about custom guns being under powered and unrealistic. also flamethowers would be very fun and not too many games have them. Also its better than your idea which to incourage people with nothing. Seriously we need people back on this game and playing other things than death match, team death match, and onslaght. Also you aren't forced to buy DLCs. Another thing with your complaint about custom guns if you don't like them play CoD because people play this game for the creative element, as well as the fps element. Also I wanted the same blocks to have more features, not for there to be more blocks.
PS looked at your profile and this is the only fps game you have.

Recoil should be added because people take out on accuracy whem making a machine gun, smg, or anti vehicle weapon. There for making them unrealistic. But more points should be added in addition to the ones needed for those features.

Neither of these things actually cost points though. Recoil is just a cosmetic feature, it doesn't actually affect the way the gun shoots. I wouldn't say "affected by gravity" is a con, it's just for a different style of explosive weapon.

That's the THING though. And actually gravity can be more of a problem than it's worth if you don't have enough points to ALSO have a decent projectile speed.
