Nobody knows the true status of Haunted Memories. I've tried contacting one of the devs on Steam named Wieprzu but he has yet to respond (he likely never will) but if you want to try talking to him go for it. What we know for sure is that Madman Theory S.A. was bought out by Forever Entertainment S.A., the games of whom can be found on Steam. Some of them, like Sparkle 2 Evo, actually were made with the Haunted Memories devs. In a recent YouTube post krmfpc, the composer, stated they are "working on other things right now." He never stated the game was abandoned.

Personally I think Haunted Memories will be revived in the future. Indie games on a scale like this, such as Black Mesa, can take nearly a decade to complete. Let's post anything we find on Haunted Memories' future here though, we must keep the fanbase alive.
