SONAR X3

[Resolved] Sonar X3 Producer (64-bit)- VST3 plugins not appearing in list
This had been working fine previously, but starting yesterday I no longer see the VST3 selections in the drop-down list for softsynths. The VST search paths to them are intact and it seems like they are found during the VST scan. Is anyone else having this problem or has anyone found a solution?

Thanks!

Do you have selected in Plugin Layouts the option Defaul All Selected in the same dropdown menu? One time I accidentally changed the layout and couldn't find some plugins.

Are the missing plugins 32-bit?

Not 32-bit, the 32-bit ones are showing up in the VST2 listing.
"Default All Selected" is checked, and it also doesn't uncheck when I click it. (??)

When I look in the Cakewalk Plugin Manager, there's nothing listed under "VST3 Instruments" but I know there was a VST3 softsynth listing a few days ago!

Also, some of the included synths (Pentagon I and RXP) won't load either!
Wondering if I should just un- & re-install the entire program...

Is there any software you installed a few days ago (esp. security software that can block loading of dynamic link libraries)?

nope!

Looked online and it seems like Pentagon I needs Sonar to be run in admin mode, so I had to make a desktop shortcut to the 64-bit exe. So that's one problem solved...

There's no VST3 instruments that ship with SONAR X3. Did you add any third party ones? The only VST3 that comes with SONAR X3 is Melodyne Single Track.

Some of the older synths only like working in 32-bit or as you saw 'Run as Admin'.

. . . I have a bunch of 3rd party VST's but the only one with a VST3 version so far is Zebra2 and they recommend using the VST2 version because apparently they rushed the VST3 version out the door a little prematurely. Anyway, the VST3 support in Sonar is nice to have, but now we have to wait for the VST publishers to come out with VST3 versions of their products. It's early yet.

Kk...thanks guys! I'm not sure why I saw a VST3 softsynth listing previously, but I won't worry about it not being there now if that's the case.

Sometimes the VST scanner doesn't finish correctly due to a bad plug-in. Resulting in plug-in's being miss-categorized until the next scan. It's entirely possible you saw that behavior. Please let us know if you see anything weird in the future though!
