UPDATE

OK so it was the fonts thing after all. (UNCL.tff)
Hear me out, it's pretty crazy.

- Go look in your Fonts folder. (Windows/Fonts)
- Find UNCL.tff and delete it.

If you can't find it, press Alt > Tools > Folder Options > View
Tick OFF Hide protected operating system files and go see if you find it.

IF YOU STILL CANNOT FIND UNCL.tff
- Copy/pasta the folder somewhere (say your desktop, for example)
- Delete everything Windows will you delete in the Fonts folder. (probably optional)
- Copy every file from the Fonts folder you created back into the original Fonts folder.
- UNCL.tff should be there.
- Kill it.
- Play Wasteland 2.

All of my Unity games are crashing on startup.
Here's what I've tried in no particular order:

- Running WL2.exe on admin
- Updating Windows
- Restarting my computer
- Screaming
- Reinstalling the game
- Verifying the game cache
- Using CCleaner to check the registry
- Using Malwarebytes to see if I had any malware
- Turning off Avast anti-virus
- Deleting all of the fonts I could
- Replacing the game's mono.dll with some other guy's mono.dll fix
- Unchecking "Hide protected operating system files"
- Reinstalling the Unity3D webplayer
- Scratching my bewildered head as playable games became unplayable
- Switching system locale to a variety of countries, namely Japan and Canada
- Running in Safe Mode
- The whole bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVa 3072
- Uninstalled CCCP

Now here's a list of games that have similar errors:

- Shadowrun Returns
- Shadowrun Dragonfall
- Magic Meisters
- Wasteland 2
- Angry Face (by John Carmack's son)

4 Years later and the font thing still works. Many thanks! Couldn't see it but deleting the font folder did the trick.
