Impossible to start?

[Good ol' Healhorn]

Just got Spelunky a couple days ago on recommendation of some friends, but when I get past the intro animation and it tells me to Press Z to Begin it doesn't respond to Z, or any other key for that matter. I know for a fact my Z isn't broken (Count the Z's!) so I'm hoping to get some help here. Anyone else faced this and overcame it?
