angry shop man

i've had this problem a few times now. i will start a level and shortly into it i will get a message saying something like "you can't do that".
then the shop man wants to kill me. i haven't even seen the shop yet.
i'm guessing it's a spitty snake hitting the hired help or damsel.
i'm ok with dealing with angry shop man when i cause it by stealing from him or accidently blowing up part of his shop, but this seems to be unavoidable.

i still love spelunky, buti don't like it when this happens.

It's a necessary precaution, as it would be too easy for players to rob the stores otherwise. Thankfully these events are somewhat rare.

i guess. :( it would prevent you from just murdering the hired help or kissing booth.
i guess i'm just unlucky, cause it happened to me 2 games in a row. xD

lol, i have had a shop man eaten by a man trap in the black market. he seemed surprisingly ok with it.
