This is a basic isometric-top-down game with crude visual assets. The gameplay is repetitive and Diablo-like, if Diablo had absolutely minimal variety. Waves of identical goblin enemies charge straight at you, and you click to mow them down one by one while using WASD to run/kite. You can hold Attack for a charged attack that does a little more damage and clears multiple enemies, but most of the time you won't bother. The enemies use no tactics or strategies, and you're slightly faster when not shooting, so you can lead mobs around the map until you have enough room to loose a few shots. The waves of enemies gradually introduce larger and faster and tougher goblins... who behave identically. Eventually you get overwhelmed (or bored), die, spend your accumulated money at the shop, and restart from the first wave.

This sort of game lives or dies by the power-ups it offers. Do you get cool new powers, bigger better weapons, and so on? No. The power-ups are unfortunately terrible. The only power-up worth bothering with increases the number of arrows you loose. Because all the enemies charge straight at you in a line, and the additional arrows fan out, this power-up is of limited utility, but it's at least something. There's no permanent boosts available for running/walking speed, arrow damage, etc. You'll end up buying the boosts to your charged attack because nothing else is available, only to discover those boosts are inconsequential.

Most unfortunately, there's also a "start with more gold" power-up. This means the fastest way to advance is: head to the shop in the south-east, buy the permanent boost to starting gold as many times as you can, then exit to the main menu and restart. Each boost increases your effective starting gold by 12 (it's 15, but boosts now cost 3 more). You repeat this action about 150-200 times, and then you can afford to buy other power-ups. Earning your gold by shooting down enemies is incomparably slower, especially with the pointless 40-second cooldown between waves. I have nearly three hours sunk into this, and two of those were loops of start, go to shop, buy buying power, exit to main menu. Looking back on it, I should have tested the multi-arrow power-up, realized there was no worthwhile payoff for the gold loop, and given up.

The only adult content is five mediocre lewd pictures you can unlock for 1500 gold each (piece by piece, 250 gold at a time). The game itself is SFW.

Ayase only costs a dollar, so you're not losing much if you give it a whirl. I almost feel bad for downvoting it, because you can't expect much for a one-dollar game, and this at least delivered a playable experience. It's not a troll game that aims to frustrate or annoy you, like some truly terrible games on Steam. However, Ayase's monotony was deadening, and I really would rather go play Torchlight or Diablo or any of the other games that provide a vastly improved version of this experience. Give those a whirl, or another whirl, instead of sinking time into this.
