Save location?

I was wondering where the save location was, and how to edit it. I was playing and I got a character, but my game crashed before I could register it and I don't particularly want to go back and get it again. I was wondering if anyone could assist me in this task.

PS: Please no "that's cheating" or "you stink for doing that" It gets irritating to read and doing that never helped anyone. Not everyone plays games the same way you do and it hardly fair to extend you jurisdiction on their life.
