anyone tried this on a Radeon mobility HD 4330?

hey all, I'm really tempted to buy this game for me and my girlfriend..... but reading the minimum system requirements im thinking that my system might not be up to the task.

im running a laptop with linux, dual core processor (1.3ghz each core), 4 gig of ram, and a Radeon Mobility HD 4330 graphics card (with 512 mb of VRAM)....

its the graphics card that im most worried about.... i have seen plenty of games over the years run on systems which are only slightly below the 'minimum specs' but im not sure about this one.... specs on the store page say Radeon HD 4800 series (512 mb).... which is a step-up from mine... but not not a HUGE step up...

so right now i'm thinking i better not risk the purchase for fear of it not running.... which would be a shame if, maybe, just maybe someone out there can confirm that they took the risk and this game should run fine on my rig?? If anyone knows for sure one way or the other i'd be delighted to hear!

Well have you used system requirments lab to see if you can run it? The steam page does not specify if it needs only a single for or a duel core proccessor, but if the gfx card is what you are worried about, make sure it has the right shader, i belive you need 3.0, if that fails, for some reason, you could take a risk and try the game. The site is fairly reliable at finding a general idea if you can run a game or not. Hope this helps :).

I doubt it would work, a HD 4330 has only 80 streams and a HD 4830 (the lowest of the 4800 series) has 640. As an Envy 13 owner (dual core sl9400 @ 1.86Ghz and a 512Mb 64 bit ddr3 HD 4330), i wouldn't even try it, I'm 99.99% sure it wouldn't even load. Sorry

thanks to you both for the effort and advice ...

while my card does have support for shader model 3.0 it generally lacks the power to pull of games such as this (and anything more demanding is a definate no go).... so i wasn't confident when it listed the 4800 series as a minimum....

My instinct told me this would be too much for my laptop (hence the question), and your response confirms what i thought Canterwood.... disapointing but not suprising really..... oh well more pennies to put towrads another sale title instead.. ;)
